Requests / Re: PatchMyPc & offline windows updates
« on: December 28, 2018, 06:42:40 pm »
not sure about patchmypc, ill look and see what is required

Also, there is already a way to do Windows updates to offline systems for Win8,8.1,10 (As well as removing updates, DISM /Restorehealth, disk cleanup, etc)

Boot into PE, in StartMenu>-Install & Repair Windows->Repair>Repair Existing Install (This is DISM++).  Here you can select the OS along the top of the GUI(not the menubar), then click "Open Session" in the middle of the GUI. Once loaded you can run updates, uninstall programs, enable/disable startup items, enable/disable features, uninstall drivers, etc etc for offline systems..  Unfortunately since is it based in DISM it does not work for older Win7 machines..

Requests / Re: How to integrate WPS office to winPE Bulid?

That was probably one of the most difficult additions.  There are hundreds of custom keys specific to this build that allow proper functionality.

The answer is registry keys.  I think a few thousand in total, that go along with the ksolaunch.exe you are trying to use.  You would be better off trying to make your own plugin from scratch.  Not that I don't want you to use ksolaunch, its that it is harder than making another from scratch because it was designed for a specific build with specific paths in place..

Support / Re: TheOven_Startup.cmd not run anymore?
« on: December 09, 2018, 09:57:38 am »
This was converted to AutoRun.CMD for ease of use with all users..

You can rename your oven startup cmd to autorun.cmd and replace the included autorun.cmd at the root of our USB.

It is the same exact mechanism... just a different file name..

It works, that is either a bug in the program or an issue with the host...

I get that type of error from it in some instances, also a ram warning with machines with very little ram.   Also certain older processors show strange characters during the disclaimer

I will look to see if there is anything I can do to improve reliability, but the last I checked all dependencies are met..

Add the line to Autorun.CMD at the root of USB

I meant to put an example of setting default KB Layouts in it but it seems I forgot.

There have been constant improvements to the core.  I am currently revamping the core now as well as taking another look at .NET framework..  MB3 Is already fixed for sure and takes up less space..  Will update soon  8)

If you are going to give back to anyone when it comes to PE builds just donate to the developers of the tools you use or purchase programs from them, do not donate to the build creators. (Maybe to ChrisR, for making it possible for us all to build easily with the Win10PESE project but builders are another story. The day we start taking payment is the day we have lost the spirit of what we are doing.) We are only putting existing pieces together for the greater good.. And to show what can and should already be achieved. We shouldn't have to do this. Our time is valuable but none of us are in this for money. No release charges for their work.

The value of our time spent comes in building some of the most useful boot ISO's ever created.  8)

Enjoy!

One of the easiest ways to add apps to PE is to boot into the PE and install the app.  If it runs then all you need to do is capture the changes made the the system.  I like to use RegShot2 to do this.  You can take a snapshot before the install, and after the install, it creates a RegRedo.reg file that you can prune irrelevant keys out of and either run at boot time or integrate into PE with winbuilder.  Also you can set it to check which files changed in the system drive to make sure you dont miss any, and reimport them into the wim or by putting them into a plugin and into winbuilder.  If you would like to learn to create your own entire builds a great place to do so is @ theoven.org - be sure to read and follow their rules if you do..

The self protection module is causing this it looks like I am going to have to go back to MB2 - It is much smaller anyway, and uses the same definitions, 3 is way faster though...  :'(

It was working for some cases if MB3 was installed on the host C:\

The program keep resetting the path from the USB to the host machines C:\ so if MB3 isnt present on the host if fails... I dont think I will be able to work around this...

This is an option in Win10PESE to bypass driver signing...  Im pretty sure I was able to self sign it before in 1803 for you? With the 1809 update I need to re-sign the new winload.exe.  I will update in the next version (I believe we were able to do this file but not others if memory serves correctly.)

The changes that are invalidating the signed certificate are made with gsar.exe ironically to allow unsigned drivers to be used, see below:

http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/gsar.htm

Code: [Select]
gsar.exe -o -s:x44:x00:x49:x00:x53:x00:x41:x00:x42:x00:x4C:x00:x45:x00:x5F:x00:x49:x00:x4E:x00:x54:x00:x45:x00:x47:x00:x52:x00:x49:x00:x54:x00:x59:x00:x5F:x00:x43:x00:x48:x00:x45:x00:x43:x00:x4B:x00:x53:x00 -r:x58:x00:x49:x00:x53:x00:x41:x00:x42:x00:x4C:x00:x45:x00:x5F:x00:x49:x00:x4E:x00:x54:x00:x45:x00:x47:x00:x52:x00:x49:x00:x54:x00:x59:x00:x5F:x00:x43:x00:x48:x00:x45:x00:x43:x00:x4B:x00:x53:x00 "X:\Pathtoexe\winload.exe"
